This is because Kristian Franze, Jochen Guck, Gerd Leuchs and Vahid Sandoghdar, together with Head of Administration & Infrastructure Dorothe Burggraf, accepted the invitation of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg to the Schlossgartenfest, one of the most beautiful and largest garden festivals in Europe. The leadership of MPL and MPZPM celebrated together with many high-ranking guests from politics, economy and science, students, alumni as well as citizens of the metropolitan region Erlangen-Nuremberg. Among those celebrating were, for example, Minister-President Markus Söder, who opened the festivities as a FAU alumnus together with University President Joachim Hornegger, State Minister Joachim Herrmann, Erlangen's Lord Mayor Florian Janik, and CEO of Siemens AG Roland Busch with one of his most famous predecessors in office and MPL Board of Trustees member Heinrich von Pierer. Six dance floors with live bands, a DJ lounge area, an impressive laser show at 11 p.m. as well as light installations and art objects transformed the lukewarm summer night in the Schlossgarten into an unforgettable glamorous party.
